  1. What I have learned about natural disaster is when the plates move, the country shakes and it makes the country get an earthquake. I also learned about natural disaster is if a house or a school is not standing on a molten will goes to the lava really quick. – Duy Trinh

    • Oops! I forgot something to say. I enjoyed the incursion because we had a late and there was milk on the plate, we use food dye. When we drip the food dye into the milk, the milk moves.

  2. I had really enjoyed the incursion because i get to do cool and fun activities.I learnt that plates on earth used to stick together some of the continents on the map look like they stick together but scientist check all and said that some looks like they can stick together but they don’t.

  3. Heya, Mrs. Mahney,

Even though I wasn’t there to be first witness, I still got to go with the 5’s. The experiment’s were wonderful. And yes, I might have enjoyed exploding a bit too much. The cornflower mixture was painfully solid after punching it, grabbing it and squeezing it. It went soft when it was free though…it must hate me. XD.

  4. Dear Mrs Mahney,
I learnt how magma moves by demonstrating, add some food dye to a pale of milk, then add a drop of detergent and see how it moves.
I enjoyed the incursion because we got to go test fun and exiting experiments like testing oobleck,Vinegar and water.

  5. Dear Mrs Mahney,
I enjoyed the incursion because we got to do a lot of experiments. Some of the experiments we have done such as adding food dye in a plate of milk and adding this liquid in the middle which causes a reaction, we got vinegar and and add this powder but i forgot what it was called, we punch this object/water called oobleck which was a very cool product.

  6. i learned that when plates go together it makes a earthquake and mantle are 80 kilometers long and that i know how to make oobleck.

  7. Hello Mrs Mahney

the incursion was really fun i enjoyed the part when we made the volcanoes, mine didn’t go as planed but i was looking at some other peoples volcanoes.i really liked the lady , SHES COOL (=

  8. I learned that the mantle is about 80km.
I enjoy the incursion because i get to play with oobleck and i get to make oobleck at home with corn flour and water, I really enjoy playing with oobleck also I like when we do the milk and food dye experiment.

  9. When the class headed to the science area, where Lidia had organised her equipment, I was eager to touch the yellow liquid.

When we entered the area, I had seen 4 tables with 4 items, which was white vinegar, a bowl, an empty container and baking soda. I wondered what we were doing, since I barely do science, because I never have time to make something.

Our first activity was watching a rocket lift up to the lights, the rocket was a plastic lid which came from a plastic bottle, it wasn’t in the video, but it was surely from the activities.

    It was a great

  10. i enjoyed the obulik where you had to punch it and try to pull it.I also enjoyed the food dye
because i liked all the mixed colours hope you had fun to:)

  11. This incursion was the best!I love science so much, I learnt that the mantle is a type of liquid that can be tough.Did you know that mountains move every year? because I didn’t know this either! I enjoyed everything, especially the activity that had a tough liquid which is called oobleck. Oobleck is made with water and cornflour. The oobleck sucked our hands and we got to punch it,as well as holding a piece. When you strain yourself the oobleck is hard but when you rest the oobleck is soft. The best incursion ever!

  13. Hello Mrs Mahney,
I learnt that, even though the water doesn’t seem to move, it’s still somehow moving. It was very fun, especially when we were making the volcanoes.

  14. I learnt that hot air raises and cool air goes down. My favorite part of the incursions is the volcano and the woblick.

  15. I learnt that when you put food dye into the fat milk then you add detergent to it, then everything will move. I loved the video. When I watch the video I feel like I want to do it again and again. It was a thing that I will never forget. I enjoyed every second of the incursion because it is an experience that i have done for the first time and maybe the last as well.

  16. Hi Mrs Mahney, it’s Helen,

I learned that the it has properties of both liquids and solids. You can slowly dip your hand into it like a liquid, but if you squeeze the oobleck or punch it, it will feel solid.
I enjoyed the incursion very much because it was fun with the oobleck.

  17. I learned that cold air goes down and hot air rises and oobleck is a liquid that when you squeeze, is solid and when you let go of it, it’s liquid.

  18. Hi Mrs Mahney I enjoyed the incursion we did . When I see the chairs and the bowls with this mixture that was like something you would use for baking a cake. When we finally got the chance I was jumping for joy! I couldn’t wait .I learned many new facts about plates and even how they look in real life it was fascinating.Continuing about the real life plate thing we had to put dye in a plate of fat milk it was cool looking at the dye swirl in the plate it was like a ghost was mixing the plate. Finally we touch the thing I said in the first place the chairs and the bowls with the mixture. When the lady who was teaching us Lidia she told us the substance was called oobleck we were all enjoying it we got to squeeze the oobleck and everytime we squeeze it it will turn hard then when we let go it would melt. I really enjoy the incursion just I said before I hope we have it next year!
