This term, we have been learning about Endangered Animals. We visited Healesville Sanctuary. This was where we encountered many Australian animals that are currently threatened or endangered.
We chose one of these to be the center of our research.
We were each given a grid to begin our planning. We jotted down information or keywords we came across whilst researching.
We then worked on writing paragraphs and understanding the structure of an Information Report.
We each write a Report about our chosen animal. We also used Google Drawing to create an Avatar of the animal. W

During Week 6, the Year 5/6‘s went on camp to Phillip Island. We went for three days and two nights. Whilst we were away, we completed many activities and visited many places on the Island.
We would like to share some of these with you.
What did you enjoy most about camp to Phillip Island?
Yesterday we celebrated Remembrance Day. We discussed the meaning and significance of the day. We used this to create our own stories or poems using Storybird.

As one of our Book Week activities we read the story, ‘Pig the Pug’.
We created our own pugs with our buddies using coloured squares of paper. It wasn’t as easy as it looks.
We also created our own version of the sequel to the story using Storybird. Check out some of our stories. There are many more to come.

This week our class began using Storybird. It is a program we can use to write creative stories using a range of images available to us.

This afternoon 5/6 WM and 5/6 MA presented to the school at assembly.
We shared some of the work we have been doing in the class post out trip to camp.
A group of students along with Mrs Watkins rewrote the song ‘Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah’ with lyrics that were about our Phillip Islnad trip.
