Changing your eating habits to healthy ones!

Next term we will be looking at Healthy Eating and Healthy Habits. Here is something to get you thinking while you are still on  holidays.
Can you change the things you eat to ensure you are a healthier person?

You might think you eat well, but do you know how much of each food you should be eating? The Healthy Eating Plate is a way to easily remember/see how much protein, carbohydrate, and vegetables you need in a main meal.

Healthy Pizza Friday!

Today we made our very own healthy Pizzas.

Firstly, we helped Mrs Mahney, Mrs Anna and Miss Moloney chop up all of our toppings.

The toppings we had to choose from were: tomato paste, ham, salami, mozzarella, capsicum, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomato, olives, pineapple, anchovies, chilli flakes, BBQ sauce and basil.

We were then called in small groups to wash our hands and dress our bread roll based pizzas.
They were then taken to Mrs Anna who was putting them into the hot oven for us.

We enjoyed our healthy lunch and topped it off with some fresh fruit.

What a great way to end the term!

AFL Football Program

During Term 1, the Year 5/6 children were involved in the AFL program run by Yusuf Qaafow from the Collingwood Football Club.

As past of the program, the children participated in 5 Practical Clinics. The clinics are aimed at developing the children’s skills in AFL as well as improving their general ball handling skills whilst aiming to increase their leadership and communication skills. It also had a focus on the importance of having a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
